Contract award for Hubara-Sahmah & Sahmah-KP114 Pipeline Project in Oman
STFA, in joint venture with FERNAS, has been awarded by Petroleum Development Oman a contract worth 40,500,000 US Dollars for Hubara-Sahmah & Sahmah-KP114 Pipeline.
The project covers laying of pipes 32” 102km between Sahmah and KP114 and also laying of pipes 28” 114km between Sahmah-KP114 as an EPC Contractor.
After linking two continents first with a bridge, next with an energy transmission line, STFA is now linking two continents, Asia and Europa with a Water Conveyance Tunnel
OJSC MOSMETROSTROY-ALKE-STFA J.V. has signed a contract on 28.November.2006 with State Hydraulic Works of Turkey for Bosphorus Tunnel Crossing project.
The aim of the project is to supply water for European side of Istanbul from Big Melen River by a tunnel constructed beneath Bosphorus.
The project having a value of 127,527,563 US Dollars comprises of :
Bosphorus Crossing Tunnel with diameter 5820 mm and length 5550m at
135m below sea level.
90m cut and cover tunnel (between Ortaçeşme and Bosphorus)
Beykoz shaft with inner diameter 8m with depth 145m – upto the base of
Bosphorus Tunnel
Access galleries with length 221m at European side of Bosphorus
Tunnel Crossing
Steel lining works of all the tunnels having 4m inner diameter

STFA proceeds with Construction of New Temporary Berth No: 7 Project in Qatar
STFA Marine Construction Company has signed a contract with Qatar Petroleum Company for Construction of New Temporary Berth No: 7.
The 17,823,322 US Dollars project has a construction period of 7 months and covers the construction of a berthing structure having 140 m length with alll mooring equipments and related items.
STFA awarded Temporary Completion Certificate for Küçüksu Wastewater Pretreatment Plant & Sea Outfall Project and Küçükçekmece Sea Outfall Improvement Works
Küçüksu Wastewater Pretreatment Plant & Sea Outfall Project and Küçükçekmece Sea Outfall Improvement Works which has been awarded by Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration on 10.May.2001 has been completed and Temporary Completion Certificate been awarded on 15.May.2006.
The project covered the construction of 1035m long Küçüksu Tunnel, Küçüksu Marine Outfall and Küçükçekmece Sea Outfall Improvement works.
The Küçüksu Marine Outfall covers the construction of 1,361m long (Onshore Section) Ø 2200mm Steel Pipes and 363m long (offshore section) Ø 2200mm Steel Pipes.
The project value is 21 Million US Dollars.
STFA awarded 400 kV 392 km Sirte-Misurata Overhead Transmission Line Project worth 110 M USD in Libya
STFA has been awarded 400 kV 392 km Sirte – Misurata Overhead Transmission Line Project in Libya.
The contract value is 110 million US Dollars and the contract is expected to be signed by August.
STFA awarded Integrated Infrastructure Works of Jufra Housing Project in Houn Area, Libya
STFA has signed a contract with General Company for Construction of Administrative Centers (CAC) of Libya for Integrated Infrastructure Works of Jufra Housing Project in Houn Area.
The project covers the construction of roads, electrical network, street lightening, telecommunication network, rainwater sewerage system and has a value of 21,303,217 US Dollars.
STFA granted Temporary Completion Certificate for Seawater Intake and Return System of Sohar Industrial Area in Oman
Temporary Completion Certificate of Seawater Intake and Return System of Sohar Industrial Area project has been received on 10.May.2006. The contract was signed on 20.November.2002 between the Ministry of National Economy of Oman and STFA – BAHWAN Consortium.
The project realised in Sohar Industrial Area on EPC basis covered the construction of Seawater Intake and Outfall works. The project consists of a seawater intake designed for a maximum flow rate of 334,000 m3/h and an outfall designed for a maximum flow rate of 325,000 m3/h. The total value of the project is 52,081,780 US Dollars.
STFA awarded Bored Piling Works of Sohar Aluminum Smelter Project in Oman
STFA Temel Pile Construction Company has been awarded Bored Piling Works of Sohar Aluminum Smelter Project in Oman on 10.May.2006. The client is Sohar Aluminum Smelter Company LLC and EPC Contractor is Bechtel & Co. LLC.
The project covers the construction of bored piles with diameters varying from 600 mm to 1000 mm and lengths from 27.5 m to 35 m. The pile loading tests are within the scope of the contract. The value of the project is 6,149,750 US Dollars.
STFA awarded contract for the Soil Investigation and Drilling Works of Iskenderun Iron and Steel Works Company
STFA Temel Investigation and Drilling Company has been awarded a contract for the Soil Investigatio and Drilling Works on 01.May.2006 by Iskenderun Iron and Steel Works Company. The project is within the content of Isdemir Modernization Investments-2 Project .
The contract includes the engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and precommissioning works. The duration of the contract is 90 days and the value is 378,574 YTL + KDV.
FEYZİ AKKAYA was commemorated at Istanbul Technical University
Istanbul Technical University, Engineering Club (MHK) has organised a panel on 12-13-14 th of April 2006 regarding “Civil Engineering – Today and Tomorrow” at Süleyman Demirel Culture Center. The first day of the panel was dedicated to Mr. Feyzi Akkaya – the pioneer of the Turkish Engineers and one of the founders of STFA. He was commemorated by various activities including two documentary films regarding his life.
